Dance hall King, Shatta Wale has reacted to his Ghana Music Awards ban. The ban was announced by organizers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), Charterhouse at a press conference in Accra.
The Kakai hit maker took to his official Facebook account to react to the ban.
“Why should I always apologize for the monster you have made me become when no one has ever apologized for making me this way? If you put me in a cage like an animal and feed me with fresh bloody meat for years, imagine what will happen if i break the cage and come out, I will be forced to live the bloody way you trained me.”
The VGMA 2014 artiste of the year, a couple of years ago warned the awards scheme against nominating any of his works. On the night of the show last year, he headlined a concert at La beach, supported by Sarkodie.
Even though Shatta Wale had a good year in 2015, there has been a lot of debate as to whether he should be awarded by the music body he called all sorts of derogatory names.
Shatta Wale’s disagreement with CharterHouse started when he lost out on a dancehall category award to Kaakie in 2013. He later attacked both the company and Kaakie, later recording a song in which he claimed he didn’t need any award.
