The build up to the December 7th polls has heightened and the political tension can now be felt by all. It has always been accusations and rebuttals between the two major parties, NPP and the ruling NDC. President John Mahama fired a fresh shot at his main contender, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo and the NPP by labelling them as “first class liars”.
According to him, members of the NPP fraternity are specialists at telling liars about him and his government.
“When it comes to lies and untruths, they are first class. They can sow you a fitting cloth of lies and you can’t do anything about it. They are very good at it and it’s all because of the upcoming elections,”
the President told a rally at Abisem in Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo region, where he is currently campaigning.Touching on the campaign promises of his main contender Nana Akufo-Addo, Prez. Mahama urged Ghanaians to be cautious of a man who promises ‘One district, one factory” for votes, when he has never constructed any factory in his lifetime.
He said the NDC under his leadership has proven that they are capable of developing the nation just as was Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana’s first President.
“Between a man who has built a factory and another who says he wants to build a factory; our elders say if a poor and tattered man promises you clothes, examine him first”.
