Kwawkese, Edem and some other musicians in the industry were not pleased about how some artiste managed to pick up ‘undeserving’ awards.
Rapper Kwawkese and Edem have expressed dissapointment in the way some awards were given to winners who did not deserve them. Female songstress, Irene Logan and Guru also shares the same sentiments as Kwawkese and Edem.

Edem sent subtle displeasure tweet suggesting his ‘Girlfriend’ video with Raquel should have won the best video category instead of EL‘s ‘Shelele’. He also in an interview with Berla Mundi on Rythms expressed his dissapointment in Hip-hop song of the year award. He argued that Omar Sterling‘s (Paedae) ‘Nineteen Ninety’ should have won the Hip-hop song of the year.

Kwawkese also expressed his dissapointment in the Hip-hop song of the year category, he expected his ‘Yakubu’ song to have carried that award.
“So the #VGMAs2016 think #handtomouth is a bigger song than #Yakubu?
It’s a shame and I wonder how they came about that statistics #nonsense”
Sensational singer, Irene Logan also wasn’t pleased with how the female vocalist of the year was awarded. She was confident that she deserved the award than Mz Vee.
She also tweeted
“I just realised something very important in this industry”
“Value is non existent”
“It’s kind of a waste of time to be nominated over and over for a category that has so little respect”
“Winning or not winning doesn’t change much in my life .but for the sake of the spirit of great voices @CharterhouseGH its blasphemy”
NKZ artiste, Guru, who has been dissapointed several times by organisers of the award also said although he was dissapointed, he knew that he was going to be dissapointed again. He also revealed this in an interview with GhOne Tv’s Berla Mundi on the Rhythmz Show.
