Ghanaian radio presenter, Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD) has been infuriated by recent derogatory comments made by United States president, Donald Trump. In reaction to allegations against the POTUS for calling Africa a ‘Sh*thole place’, the fashion designer on his birthday burned a shirt he owned which was Donald Trump had signed.
In a post on Facebook, KOD uploaded a video of him burning his Trump shirt he bought four years ago.
President Trump’s reported remarks came as lawmakers visited him on Thursday to discuss a bipartisan proposal that would impose new restrictions on immigration but protect the so-called “Dreamers”; hundreds of thousands immigrants brought to the US illegally as children – from deportation.
Mr Trump allegedly told them that instead of granting temporary residency to citizens of countries hit by natural disasters, war or epidemics; the US should instead be taking in migrants from countries like Norway.
“Why are we having all these people from sh*thole countries come here?”
the Washington Post quoted him as saying, in remarks first reported to be about Haiti, El Salvador and African nations.
This comment has generated a lot of criticism from both Americans, Africans and countries around the world. The African Union earlier today also released a statement demanding a apology from the POTUS. Donald Trump has since denied ever making such comments on twitter; but the democrats available still insist he made such comments.
