Season 4 of MTN’s famous HitMaker show came to an end last night. The show, which was produced by Charter House, began with twelve contestants, and finally culminated in a final show with five contestants competing for first place.
Held at the National Theatre on the 30th of September 2015, the finale was definitely one filled with anxiety and heightened emotions.
The contestants gave out their very best performances yet, as their loyal fans and family cheered them on with loud cries and waving name placards.
The crowd was so charged; filled with hope that their contestant of choice would win. In fact, if cheers could have determined the
winner, then each contestant would have come out the victor.
Adding to the excitement of the night were the artistes on the bill, which included Pappy Kojo, Joey B, and Tinny.
However despite the tangible excitement of the crowd and the visible euphoria of the contestants, there could be only one victor – and this was none other than Kidi; the amazingly talented young man from the University of Ghana who took home the GHC 100,000 recording deal.
Second place went to the incredible Abena of Ashesi University College.
The show came to an end on a good note, especially for Kidi, Abena, and their friends and fans as they went off celebrating into the night.
Congratulations to all five finalists though. They each did well and we look forward to seeing them all do great things in the future with their music.
Finally, kudos to MTN for holding yet another successful season of HitMaker; we truly appreciate seeing these new talents.
