Fuel tanker explosion at Ashiaman kills 7, several others injured

​A gas tanker is has exploded at a petrol filling station behind the Ashiaman Timber market, claiming the lives of seven persons so far.

The disaster has seen close to 15 fire tenders rush to the scene to put off the raving flames as the entire area has been covered with thick smoke.

It is unclear what caused the fire outbreak which reportedly started at a filling station operated by some Gao people. The fire spread into a nearby tanker yard resulting in the fire escalating and causing an inferno.

The level of property and lives lost is yet to be ascertained as police forces begin rigourous investigations
