Did you know you can now send and receive payments via your Facebook Messenger.
The biggest social network company in the world, Facebook announced the Messenger Platform v1.2, which enables the users to send the money to their Facebook friends and loved ones. The company is doing everything possible to make the Messenger app more useful for its users.
The messenger app now supports money transfer between the friends in an easy way. This feature will make available for the users in the upcoming months in the US which allows instant money transfer at free of cost and should be available in other parts of the world soon.
For now, all the Facebook users can send or receive the amount using their Visa or MasterCard debit cards which issued by the United States bank.
“We use secure systems that encrypt the connection between you and Facebook as well as your card information when you ask us to store it for you,” A Facebook blog post read “We use layers of software and hardware protection that meet the highest industry standards. These payment systems are kept in a secure environment that is separate from other parts of the Facebook network, and that receive additional monitoring and control.”
How to send and receive money via Facebook Messenger?
To send money
- Start a message to your friend to whom you want to send money.
- Click on the ‘$’ icon.
- Enter the amount you want to transfer.
- Tap on the ‘Pay’ option provided at the top right corner.
- Add your debit card details for easy payment.
To receive money
- In this process also start a conversation with your friend.
- Click on the ‘Add card’ in the message.
- Add your debit card information to receive money.
Note: Entering debit card information requires only for first-time use. From subsequent transactions, they need not enter the details, simply skip the step and continue to the money transfer.
For further payments, users can also add the security pin every time for every transaction process. The money you sent is transferred right away. It may take two to three business days to make the available to you which depend on the bank. Currently, this feature is made available for people in the US, but the company didn’t make any announcement of global launching.
