The much anticipated #Dumsormuststop vigil organized by celebrities from the entertainment industry in Accra, today Saturday 16th may 2015 recorded a huge turn out.
Thousands of People from all walks of life bearing placards joined actress Yvonne Nelson and other celebrities like singer Efya,rapper and producer D-Black,comedian DKB,Van Vicker and several others to quietly protest the government on the power crisis that has hit the country over the past three years and has led to the loss of several job cuts during the period.
Clad in black with red arm bands,the thousands marched from their designated start point at the Old Legon Gate amidst heavy police presence to their end point.
Several of the protesters showed up with placards bearing messages to the government and the president, John Dramani Mahama to wake up while others showed up with lanterns and other forms of indigenous sources of light.
There was also brisk business in “Dumsor must stop” t-shirts whilst other traders also took the opportunity to display their wares for sale.
