Ghana’s self proclaimed ‘king of comedy’, Derrick Kobina Bonney, who is publicly known as DKB, has revealed how he broke down in tears following the condemnation of his comedy act by former first lady Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings.
The former first lady was reported to have described the ‘king of comedy’ as ‘unfunny’ and a ‘boring comedian’ during an Easter Saturday show at the Accra International Conference Centre. The former first lady stormed out of the Accra International conference centre when DKB was performing.
She later clarified that she simply did not like the vulgarity in his language, but the criticism got to DKB all the same.
He told tv3 in an interview that thinking of the comments made his break down in tears. He said the level of admiration he holds for the former first lady made her comments more demoralising.
