The famous ‘limping man’ in the middle of the recent Begoro s£x tape scandal, Yaw Offei, has been freed by police.
The 53-year-old photographer who left town after the videos went viral, was arrested by the Manhyia Divisional Police Command in Kumasi when some vigilant members of the public spotted him and alerted the police.
While in police custody, the photographer denied recording and distributing the tapes. According to him, his former apprentice was the one who secretly recorded and distributed the videos.
In his statement, he said that his former apprentice sent him a text message on 18 August 2014 threatening to reveal his escapades to the public if he does not pay her off.
This message, according to him, scared him and he sent her Gh¢600 after which he left town due to the stigma.
The release of the photographer has been confirmed in an interview on Adom News by the Fanteakwa District Chief Executive (DCE), Abbas Sbabe.
